汉 兽面玄纹三足陶罐
China, Han dynasty
Dimensions: 9.5″ (24.13cm) H
Stoneware tripod with short feet. Circular opening at the top and small rectangular opening at the lower base of the body. Minimal ornament with three sets of three horizontal stripes protruding along body.
Provenance: Philip Gould was a professor of Chinese Art History at Columbia University (’55-’65), Sarah Lawrence College (’65-’98), and Beijing Teacher’s College (’89). He was a passionate collector of African art, he curated many museum and gallery exhibitions. His wife Nadia Gould was an artist.
