The history recorded in this book starts from the early years of Sima Yi during the Three Kingdoms period, and ends in the second year of Emperor Gong Yuanxi (420) of the Eastern Jin Dynasty when Liu Yu abolished Emperor Jin and established himself by the Song Dynasty.
