Rare Lacquer Gilt Bronze Figure of Guanyin (Avalokitesvara) , Kangxi Period, Qing Dynasty

Dimensions: 5 1/8″ (13cm) W with base

Gilt-lacquered figure of Guanyin seated in a relaxed posture in a form of lalitasana on a lotus. Her right hand lowered in varadamudra while the left raised in vitarkamudra. Serene facial expression with downcast eyes below her arched eyebrows. Her hair coiffed in a triple gourd-shaped chignon and secured by a tiara. Traces of lacquer presented.
