The Lord of the North seated on a yokeback arm chair with dragon-head terminals and base with bare feet pendant, the left hand on the knee and right slightly raised possibly originally with a sword, wearing Song dynasty style court robes with a wide ceremonial belt, a collar of plaques suggesting he is wearing armour under the robes, the face serene and hair in a tight coiffure pulled back and with topknot. Possibly carved from a block of nanmu hardwood. Remains of lacquer and possibly old gilding.
